~ A Fresh Start ~

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I guess it doesn’t show
So you think it’s not there
But you’ve wrenched a hole in my heart
And I don’t think it’s fair.

So glad you got away
And were able to leave this mess.
Hope you enjoyed your stay.
Couldn’t have underestimated you less.

I don’t understand how
You can avert your gaze
And step over the trampled pieces.
Oh yes, you never cease to amaze.

Did it liven your dreary existence
To move on and not look back?
How can you stand to look at yourself?
Does the mirror not show what you lack?

Does even a thought of us
Drift through that mind of yours?
Do you hope we are doing okay?
Did you ever wonder what was the cause?

Can you really put it all behind you
And start afresh again?
Can I ever forgive the past
Or has all of this life been in vain?
