you haven't lived my life and felt these things
you haven't had everything taken away from you
born such an independent person always determined
never wanting help even if its the best for me
had all of my freedom stolen from underneath me
left lying in a bed unable to move myself
hooked up to machines that feed me and keep me going
having to rely on nurses to simply roll me over
my body lives yet inside im struggling to breathe
feel so dead being trapped in this body
hard work gets me back on my feet slowly
struggling painfully with every step i take
month after month of strenuous therapy
seven months later another painful surgery
sent back to the hospital bed to start all over
restart therapy and go through its painful work
finally able to bend, twist, lift over 5 lbs
move around on my own and return to myself
yet you tell me not to you yell in my ears
you want me to be trapped helplessly forever
i wont stay that way i cant live like that
no matter the pain inside my broken back
i will rise to myself and regain my independence
because you dont know what ist like
dont pretend to care until you've lived this torture [comments] => 3 [counter] => 154 [topic] => 6 [informant] => deadbloodyrose [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 3 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )

i hope you've been able to accept love. it can help so much with the intense pain you must be feeling. i know, though, that sometimes solitude is all I want.
to only rely on myself.
that is a powerful poem.
