in a vessel spun of thought
half a word from drowning
poets doze and dream

others plough the sea with
engines of fire and steel
fearing the wisdom of
the mumbling waters.

the silent sea mumbles
of majesty and maddness
singing lusty chanties
of loss and of love

unheard in the passage
of steel and the clamor fire
which muffle those aboard
from the madness of the sea...

the vessels of steel and fire
slip broken beneath the waves
their pride and purpose
lost amongst the mumbles

while dozing dreaming poets
glean glimpses of sanity
half a word from drowning
adrift on the mumbling sea

Pleasing and full-bodied.
I like the smothering and watery nature of this work.
Good write.

I'm not exactly sure what you are saying here. I don't want to guess.
