For you, your body...
Those eyes no longer reach your smile,
Or cloud in sleepy haze,
While I talk and talk,
To keep you awake.
I never wanted to be separated,
From you, together, always.
But now you have gone,
And all I have left of you,
Are my memories.
So many, so few.
I would trade them all,
To get back to you.

For you, your memory...
I have brought these along.
These funeral flowers,
That wilt with the song.
So many people you knew,
Crowded in a room.
I wish to send them all away,
To be with only you.
How can I share you now,
When everyone looks to see,
Who you are, who you used to be?
White lillies, and a single white rose,
Whose color have slipped away,
While I nodded silently to those.
So your funeral flowers,
Have lost their power.
Turned brown, such an ache.

For you, for your soul...
The purity of my last gift to you,
Has faded away,
Just as your words are beginning to...
Just as your smile is beginning to...
Just as I am, more each day...
