Array ( [sid] => 52488 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => To Wait To See What Will Come [time] => 2004-06-17 22:58:25 [hometext] => It's about starting over, not ending something. Casting off a side of yourself that only hurts you, and seeing what will come when you start anew. [bodytext] => I look into her eyes; I see the fear inside of them.
I look into her eyes, I see the tears fall from them.
I grab her hand and hold it inside of mine.

“Please...do this for me. I know you'll miss me...but I can't do this anymore.”
“I...I can't. You don't understand you'll be missed. I'll...I'll miss you. Please don't do this, don't make me do this.”

She looks into my eyes; she sees the fear inside of them.
She looks into my eyes, she sees the tears fall from them.
I drop to my knees and I weep.
I drop to my knees and I scream.

“You don’t have to do this. I will help you…I’ll be with you. Together we can make it through.”
“I don’t want to make it through…I don’t want to see a better, brighter day. I’ve seen my share of all that this place has to offer. I’ve continued on these past years thinking that my journey through life was one of going up a hill. When you’re traveling up the hill you don’t know what’s on the other side, so you continue on to satisfy you’re curiosity. You never know, on the other side might be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen, or it might be something that repulses you. You continue on in the chance that it might be beautiful and good.’
‘My life is no longer like that. I’ve traveled over countless hills and at the top of them I see that repulsive thing. On the top of each hill I see something ugly, something dark. I’ve given up hope. There are no more sunny days for me.”

My eyes dry up and my fear relinquishes.
My eyes wonder to the cliff beside me.
I walk to it and look beneath and see that there is nothing.
No ground no grass no clouds to see.
Just a black that continues forever.
I look back at her and say

“I’m sorry for this, and sorry that I had to drag you with me. I’ll always be with you.”

She screams for me to stop and wait but I refuse to listen.
I jump off the cliff and spread my arms and wait to see what will come.

Very deep and dramatic poem. I like the style of this poem and the way you interupt what life is like. Yes it may seem that life has many disappointments but it gets better. Just hang on and wait. Your time will come.
