each falling drop added more fuel to the pain.
Picking up a pen, she commenced to write a letter,
one word at a time...hoping to feel better.
But, half-way through she stopped, words would not come,
her soul was feeling empty...that place they come from.
How did she allow this hurt, she was way too smart
to allow at her age, an affair of the heart?
Youth had long since left, there was silver in her hair,
yet her heart longed for someone, a life to help share.
She opened the door, let a stranger come inside
allowing emotions, not wisdom...on a path that would collide.
She again cried some tears, though they now were becoming less,
it was time to finish the letter, put it between pages of book to press.
She will never send it...it's words no one will ever find,
about the stranger's charm, that left her completely blind.
No one will ever see, the heart that in half broke,
or hear of the words...she believed when spoke.
They will see her smile, when all the tears are gone,
no one will ever know, of a love that went wrong.
