[bodytext] => This morning I was blessed to see a Tiny Hummingbird,
As if she was suspended in mid air.
Fluttering ever so fast, floating along without even a care.
So tiny and delicate, yet so very strong...
All the while humming her favorite song.

In search of all the Nectar her tiny body could hold.
Right before my very eyes the beauty of Nature displays...
Such oppulent, vibrant colors as this lovely bird sashays.
She seemed so very busy as she moved along,
I asked her if she ever stops to rest at all?
Nature surely provides, this we know is true,
Some days I wish that I possesed half the energy you do.
There would be so much I could get done...
Long before the setting of the Sun.

Miss Hummingbird replied..."It's not always the swiftness or trying to keep pace,
It's not always determined the fastest will always win the race.
Take time to stop and smell the Roses,
That's one thing I love to do.
While I'm smelling I partake of the Nectar too.
For that's what sustains me, helping me to fly.
For you it's a visual pleasure, very pleasing to the eye."

She said..."In your world of rush, rush, rush,
As it is in mine, always remember to slow down.
Getting to appreciate Nature at it's best.
Take it from one who knows
I even stop from time to time...
Stopping to rest among the Flowers and Honeysuclke Vines.
Just as quickly as she appeared, that's how fast she was gone.
Before I knew it I was humming her favorite song.

Take time for your favorite song!

The idea is enjoyable, if not original, and the ending is commendable, but it seems you don't quite have a perfect grasp over the minute, distinctive "feel" of your words. To be honest, I don't think there's a way a humming bird can "sashay" at all.

In my opinion, the poem is just a touch verbose, so as advice I'd suggest you work on capturing the emotions in less words, especially in the case of poetic grace.

Other than that, good job. You brought a smile to my face (even if not for the right reasons).

Vividly done.

"Attune the soul to nature's air; Through greener eyes the world seems fair."

Well, I loved it and I think they can sashay and do anything they want. I have watched them for years. The ones we have here will actually fly down in front of my face as if to tell me to check the nectar bottles. They are so precious. We have tiny tiny one to ones that are about 2 inches long. They are totally amazing to me.

Hugs,
Rita
