I am only skin deep,
Crawl around you while you sleep,
Burrowing further as I go
Absorbing your insides nice and slow.
I feed on your innocent soul,
Consuming you to make myself whole,
Leaving you a wandering shell,
Create for you , your own personal hell.
No longer do you laugh or cry,
Your mind like a big, empty sky,
Your brain like an apple thats rotten,
Thoughts of love are so long forgotten.
Numbness engulfs you,
Theres nothing more you can do,
Other than sit there and take this torment,
Your days of happiness have been spent.
Here I am living inside,
Tearing your wounds open wide,
Leaving your body for the worms,
Inside your skull they twist and turn.
Until youre left emaciated,
Inside this hell thats been created,
For you to eternally stay and waste away,
Skin deep is where I will forever stay.

Oh Pixie, I don't think you realize you have created a Masterpiece here.....what images, and the depth was more than I could reach!
You have marvelous way of seeing and then explaining what you feel! This write is so unreal.....and i mean that to be in a positive way! FANSTASTIC is a good word for it.
And thanking you so much Pixie for your kind comments on my poems......I'm just now getting around to you, but I have you pegged now.....so watch out, I'll be commenting alot!

Wow...I know that each reader gets their own meaning from the poems...and as I read this one I feel as if this is how the pain of lost love can affect a soul...wonderful poem...
