Don't Lie

Contributed by Dusty on Monday, 14th June 2004 @ 11:20:47 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Don't look at me like that,
Don't pretend you care,
Don't look at me like that,
No, don't you DARE!
You call yourself my friend, but you still turn away,
You think all my problems will suddenly go away,
I'm asking for your help, though not in so many words,
I'm trying to get through to you but wonder if you've heard,
I'm dying inside slowly, don't you even care?
I'm crying inside, lonely, while you're just standing there,
I try to keep my thoughts straight, I hold it all inside,
I smile, joke and laugh, A few more little white lies,
But, I can't keep this up, I can't keep going on,
For you to ask me to do that is just completely wrong,
I'm asking for your help now, in not so many words,
I'm asking one last time, I hope that you have heard.

Well done great poem, fantastic write. 5/5 for sure, I really enjoyed that one. I hope that your friend will soon realise just how much you need them to understand. I can really relate to this poem so much, all the words are how I felt, just stay strong and dont give up, if they are a real friend they will try and understand.
ps. welcome to YPDC
I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
