A world you won’t recall to speak of
See all women remember
What it’s like to dismember
All right from wrong
And wrong from right
To toss and turn on sleepless nights

The things he would whisper
When no one heard
How deceit turned to truth in just three
Words
How he could make your body burn
And teach you things you need not learn.

So you lock up your daughters and
Look away from your sons
Hoping to prevent perversion
That your little girl won’t see conversion
In a sequential version
Of yourself
You remember the way it felt
How your heart and mind seemed to melt
When your fingers grew gradually numb
As your name dribbled from his tongue

How your parents’ words would fade
As he would softly subtly invade
Your thoughts; Body mind and soul
How he made you think you were whole
If only for an instant
Love came and love went

I look at these smaller women,
Who suffer in the love they live in.
Which ones are boys and which are men?
It brings the past back up again

I look and reminisce
Back to when it all made sense
I couldn’t question your validity
Because I knew my vulnerability
Went beyond your ability
To riddle me

It’s inevitable. Unforgettable.
There I was a young girl
Trapped in a secret world
Lost in a false love
That until now I never spoke of

These girls are just like me.

If you'll excuse my vocabulary, I found this a very 'mature' write, penned by the hand of experience. Skilled rhymes and insight made this a memorable read for me.

Thanks for sharing, Dominique.
