when she smiled at him and won his heart
he never wanted from her to part
but all he did was make her cry
so she moved away and said goodbye
since then his life has been a lie
they were in love so deeply then
now its hard to remember when
all he ever had to do was call
a simple ring and that was all
she flew 'round the world on her own
had much fun and then came home
now they are old, alone, settled in; life and
love's gone by, they don't know how or when
she'd smiled her smile and warmed his heart
for he was so stubborn; that they did part
for he would not say i love you
nor promise to be her only true
forget all that rot and emotion
he'd chosen to sail the ocean
so; now he sits quite alone
looking at his telephone
knows he sailed ships upon the seas
still he dreams of what could be...
dreams of her in the next town
for she flew the world around.

| You know, this could be my life story. Well, except for the growing old part anyway. I can relate to most of this poem, and I think it is absolutely lovely. Maybe I should show it to the stubborn male in my life. |

I love your poem and the way you make everything flow together.
This is a sad story but it does help me think on telling people my feelings to people so I wont regrete it. Great Job!
