The one I knew most
Was no longer the one
With whom I grew so close
She had changed.
Her emotions the most

She was like a stranger
With a familiar face
Someone you knew
From another place.

An all to familiar reminiscence,
Of a friendly face.
Painted with amnesia
Forgotten
A life whose past is gone
And memories show no trace
This I see, by the emotions of her face

Why can’t I be cleared of this tormenting disgrace
Her fire is gone
No ashes left behind
Mine still breathing scalding cinders
Still flaring
Burning away holes
This new life still wreaks memories of the old.
Frostbit by the cold,
Her life’s new envy
Memories of the old
