Array ( [sid] => 51821 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Ghost in Your Head [time] => 2004-06-14 01:42:14 [hometext] => This is my favorite poem I've ever wrote because it is so powerful and deep. I wrote this poem for a friend of mine that was addicted to drugs. He wanted help and I tried to help him but he ended up overdosing and killing himself. R.I.P. my dear friend [bodytext] => All the dead came back to haunt me
I open every door with another's lost key
I've stolen no hearts, nor broken the same
All those fools that think life is a game
Life is a reaction to everything you do
Life is the lonely poltergeist inside of you
Now when I close my eyes and start to think
I'm in a boat about to sink
My hopes and dreams just laugh at me
If the ghosts in my head could only see
I'm screaming in silence and drowning so slow
Everyone's holding back something I'm dying to know
Please tell me now don't let me drown
My head is being pushed under by a mighty crown
It's made up of everything that I haven't done
It's made up of my ghosts and battles not won
I'm suddenly still as my body continues to die
I notice as a single ghost beings to cry
It is an old friend who witnessed my sadness
Who came to save me and fight the madness
But it's way too late for I'm already dead
For the rest of eternity, I'm the ghost in your head. *shudders*

wow! the meaning contained within these words is so powerful!
they mean so much and yet--
chillingly beautiful i think...
also well-presented is the sense of loss...
I love the flow
It's just so hauntingly deep and seeing as i'm on cocaine, it means just that bit more to me...
wow!
I loved it!
Great work!
Keep it up!

13 year old deply impressed,
katie

This so emotionally charged. Wow. Very good work. I love the rhyming scheme too. "I notice as a single ghost begins to cry" stands out very well. This poem sort of reminds me of Linkin Park. Good work.
