in lips piece of hay, happy where they abide
with flowing hair and wizened smiles
enjoying the air, and life’s last miles
their dogs run free, wild as the wind
a pleasure to watch, but these ladies are not thin skinned,
they talk about the olden days when the Lizard King was all the rage
have a drink of daisy wine, some say they’re going through a phase
wearing tie-dyed tees and cut off shorts they still think that they look hot
they count the fireflies for sport, the men they loved, most they forgot,
laughter in their sparkling eyes, these two old gals still got some spunk
the neighbors look at them awry, 'tis said that quite a bit they shrunk
boney knees and sagging tits don’t slow them down or make them fret
they really aren’t the type to knit, and not much hair for a barrette
sometimes these ladies doze away, lovebeads around their necks
dreaming of the good old days, all their days and nights are blessed
