Trying to keep my mind from leaving me
Hiding from it all again
Hoping and longing for the sky to greet me

A part of me grows in your hand
A breath of my chest still escapes
And floats into your grasp
A lonely memory lingers in your life
All I can do is watch you walk away
Let part of me die away

I’m left here, losing myself
Drifting out this window
Somehow I know I’m only dreaming
But will I wake before you go?

A part of me grows in your hand
A breath of my chest still escapes
And floats into your grasp
A lonely memory lingers in your life
All I can do is watch you walk away
Let part of me die away

Once I stop watching I know
My heat will be clouded
And slip away to you
Or have you held it in the shadow
And all this time I’ve known

A part of me grows in your hand
A breath of my chest still escapes
And floats into your grasp
A lonely memory lingers in your life
All I can do is watch you walk away
Let part of me die away

I was literally holding back tears reading that. It was great. I like the line "A part of me grows in your hand". It's a great line. Go you.

You always seem to do a good job in expressing your feelings and emotions. And you get better and better with every write. I too loved the line " A part of me grows in your hand". Superb.

Quite a sad poem, melancholy literally bleeds from it. Great work.
