the rain is today,
no longer do I see tomorrow,
today I live again with pain,
I want a brighter day,
the cross I bear seeps sorrows,
I feel as if time is stilled,
Hush ...... the children are sleeping,
My son Nathan draws a picture of the purple cross,
he looks in amazement to the sky,
the shepherds hand cradles them, mom,
Tears trail down my cheek as he shows his drawing,
he is so silent,
sometimes I wish I could scream,
I'm helpless, I'm dying from the inside out,
I counted the children last night,
six ..... Dear God there has been six I have buried,
I surrender this broken soul,
my heart is restless,
only the shadow sun can pass time,
against this silence !

(Nathan's picture now hangs on Our Refrigerator, as Nathan says
"It is a reminder that God is Love")

god may be love val, but hes sure given you more than anyone should ever have to bear, nathan so sweet and innocent, his answers make one think and i know he is the light of your life, im so glad we were on the phone the other night, or id be in pieces after reading this poem, you and randy are so special and dear to all of us, and the kids too, i have no clue how anyone can go on with so much pain and still carry on a normal conversation, you are an amazing woman valerie, but i know loosing jeremy has about done you both in, your not alone, always remember i love you, i wont say anything lame like everything happens for a reason, because its just bloody unfaire, but we will see our loved ones again, this i believe, or i would lay down and die right now, one day at a time sweetie, we'll get through this loss too:) big hugs and love to you and all at your house from all of us, nessa xxx...

Nathan is still young enough to believe that all will be well because of the love God has for us. As hard as it is to accept the death of someone you love, we must remember they are only a prayer away.

Dear Valerie ... I cry tears with you as well for the enormous loss you have to bear ... so many tragedies in your life, yet you are a strong and amazing woman - Nathan is so very lucky to have you as his mother and guide in this life. Please take care ... love Jan

I am so proud of Nathan and his message to you. God is love. Also unable to comprehend how much pain your heart is having to endure.
