[hometext] => For my Friend, BaDgEr.
[bodytext] => I am sitting here in my comfort,
And a Friend is hurting. I wish I could be there. I can't take his pain, But maybe I could share it. Having a kneecap rebuilt might be easy for the sedentary, But he is far from that. For he is a mentor, a student, A worker, and above all, a Rider. Those few who know me, Understand that I am old school, And don't lightly use words Like Friend, or Respect, Unless I truly mean them. Yet I am proud to call him Friend. And humbled when he refers in like kind to me. And my respect grows ever deeper. After he is done with his ordeal, then the healing will begin. And all I can do is counsel, And try with words To speed his recovery. If all has gone well, He should be done. But, as he wakes from drugged slumber, Do you suppose he knows, I have been there with him in spirit?
