The next stays inside keeping sun from her eyes
The little one dances through thunderstorm
And I, for the tornado, am airborne

The four of us, all seeking shelter now
Know nature is strong but we’ll only allow
Raindrops to fall when each other is near
Drawing together for comfort as storms appear

The skies keep tumbling overhead
Rainbows may come when the hurricane’s dead
Gathering property that’s been strewn about
We wait for the sun to force itself out

Clouds will break, an answer for one
With reason enough, another will seek the sun
When thunder settles, the little one moves on
And I, will land, somewhere by dawn

Clouds, sunlight, tornado and thunder
Spells of nature is not all that we’re under
Though stormy words I have used above

It sounds like you each use the strength of each other to exist. That is tremendous. That is what friends and families do. This is a great write.

This made me smile... I wish I had three other people I could always depend on... you're very lucky....

I like your idea, to use a storm as a metaphor for you and your friends... it worked...

I guess that is love. The destruction after the storm. The calm before it. And everything in between. Great write, SNM. I am definitely a fan.

Positively effulgent . . . what a great poem. When people are blessed with friendships like these, the world's just a little bit brighter for everyone.

Flowed very easily, too . . .
