I am just a simple piece of paper
staring back at you.
Can you see me through my words?
We shall tell you my words and I.
Shall we tell you of my blue green eyes that shimmer when my mouth smiles,
or of my brownish blonde hair that I alway brush behind my right ear, when it falls over my shoulder?
No, reader these things you do not need to know.
Look into me.
Do you see my words?
Open the door to your soul and look into the darkened window of mine.
Do you see her crying?
Do you see her dieing?
My soul is frantic and plagued with insanity.
Oh reader, do you see my words?
The sharp lash of another painful regret infuses into her skin.
Blood spills.
Memories lost.
She screams.
A shrill sound that would pierce the darkest of moments in your heart.
Reader, do you feel my words?
Do you hear them echo in the silence of your head in this moment of your life?
Be careful reader.
She has caught sight of you.
Do you see her hollow eyes looking into you?
She runs to the window and strikes the unbreakable glass.
Silence.
Her mouth moves
with words you can no longer hear in the silence of your head.
Dark red blood splatters against the glass as she runs her hand down the window.
Crying, she crumples to the floor.
She is hidden from your sight now.
The blood begins to change colors.
Static.
Static reader as it goes into a cosmic fit.
Memories begin to flash.
A boy.
Happiness.
You see the blue, green-eyed girl smile and laugh as the boy chases her playfully.
Catches her, enwraps her in his arms
and whispers words of forever as they smile in the middle of love.
The picture freezes.
Cracks.
Then shatters.
Black and white now, with a kind of sorrow.
It's the same boy.
Tension, tears, confusion.
The boy hugs her slightly, then turns to leave.
She breaks.
Curls up on the floor and cries after the door softly shuts.
Did you see her heart break?
Did you feel insanity slip into her soul in place of happiness.
Or perhaps these are just words reader,
and she still has her moment of happiness because you have not seen.
And the boy will always leave
but never be gone,
because her insanity keeps his memory. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 156 [topic] => 32 [informant] => Drowning-in-light [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )
