[hometext] => I like this poem but feels like it needs a bit of fine tuning. Please feel free to suggest some rephrasing of some of the lines if you think you can. Cheers!
[bodytext] => I wish there were still highway men Roaming upon the street Winning booty with their style and flair Availing of treasures everyone they meet I wish the pirates still rode the seas Spotting mermaids and entertaining wicked thoughts Then back on land with their gold hoop earring Winning hearts at every port Oh to see the Indian Brave Copper and strong, so silent Sweep in and capture the maid unaware Then make her love him with a love so violent Why are there no more gallant knights To ride into battle in splendor and glory Wearing his lady’s lace close to his heart Why is this only heard in a story? What became of the gypsy man Who wandered so far and so free Living life so full with such passion And awakening someone like me? And the handsome Lieutenants – Are they still there? Do they still dance and flirt Before marching off with that dignified air? Where are the storybook heroes To win a girl’s heart? It just seems that these days For them there is no part.
