Please don’t think that all you had to say Hasn’t been noted and tucked away. I know I could have held you, tighter each time So many years had already slipped by, And calling’s not so hard, so why didn’t I try? Why didn’t I treasure you more, each and every day? I had so much to learn from you - you’d lived it all Though you didn’t want it that way. You have acquired so much wisdom and gentleness of spirit But I can learn from you still – even so far away. All the things I have discovered, bring me closer than ever To you my dear love, gone forever. You have touched so many lives – I saw that today How could I ever forget, a man such as you?
