[hometext] => Not many people have seen one of these little fellows. They are unique to say the least!
[bodytext] =>  "THE WYOMING JACKALOPE" When I was a child, they were numerous. Not seeing one, doesn't take away from their realness. The Wyoming Jackalope the rarest animal in North America. Strange little fellow defies classification with drama. Without his antelope horns, he might be a large Jack Rabbit. Chocolate color, with horns, and shaped with an antelope's butt. I've never heard tell it's a vicious animal in any way! I do know that coyotes have a fine respect for their horns and stay away! I had one as small child, but finally had to let it go. It had his horns cut off, but back they would grow. He was always getting them caught in the wire fence. They eat a lot of food, so there was much food expense. An odd trait of the Jackalope is that he can imitate a human's voice. Cowboys singing to their herd at night were startled to hear them rejoice. Their lonesome melodies repeated faithfully from the hillside. Phantom echoes from the throat of some Jackalope with pride!!!  It's been said that they only sing on dark nights And this is just before a big thunderstorm ignites. I've heard tell, some get together and sing a soprano cry.
