With eyes so closed
You stretch and then roll
You dream & dream & I'm so glad to know
Then I close my eyes
To take the time
To realize
You in that pose
A quick blink
A Photograph in my mind
Something to keep all of the time
I blink and drift into dream
When I once was next to you

I dream
With eyes closed tight
I remember & dream
One more night
Of my twelveth Hollow's Eve
The first time we meet
& My mind fell to my knees
The first time my heart felt at peace
Snapped a photograph in a blink
Something I picture & leave in ink
I snapped and drift into dream
When I once was happy with you

We dream
In doors now closed
Never to stroll
Down those streets of our youth
But I've got pictures of them & you
Under this same sky
That's blue
I use to blink
But now I sleep
& drift into dream with you

I don't fantasize
But remember happier daze with you
For this gift
No need to rhyme
For you're beautifully 28
On this day you're mine
I dedicate words every year
& pray for your happiness
Knowing I'm no longer near

I close my eyes & drift into dream
I remember many, many, many, many, many
Things
Of nights so warm
& nights of rain
I remember everything for this day
I kiss my pride and drift away

Once I had some one i loved. For years dating on and off. I wronged her so. So I felt I was never good enough for her. Whence I left her. During the time away from her I grew. But knowing How far I was gone. I cut ties to let her go on to find her happiness. This poem is for her. Since I won't call her, every year on 6.6 my gift is words online.
SO BE IT.
