Array ( [sid] => 50755 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Left Unaffected [time] => 2004-06-06 21:59:55 [hometext] => With Father's Day coming I just thought of my own father. This is going to be the most unvague poem you will ever read from me. With nothing else to say I leave you to read. [bodytext] => Left Unaffected

I begin to wonder again
Did he ever stop and think
What leaving would do to me?
Has he ever wondered
What life would be like now
If he never would have left?

We'll both never know
It's too late now
Too much time has gone by
To ever forgive a failure
The one that doesn't care
And left here to go there
To wherever for forever
I haven't heard from him
In thirteen years
But I guess it doesn't matter
I was left to live with my unwed mother

I don't ask questions afraid to know
If I really do want to know you
Unlike you I care about my flesh and blood
I'm not going to leave
My child before it hits age three
But this might run in the family
To be dysfunctional
To ruin everyone's future

I just wonder who I'll be in this world
If I'm unaffected enough
To forgive you and move on with life
Or just blame you for all this strife [comments] => 3 [counter] => 209 [topic] => 48 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
