She sits in her room and cries as she hears the screaming and beating
She contemplates death and picks up her razor, ready to put her life's test to an end
But a small voice inside her keeps saying not yet
her parents would call her a nothing and she felt she was going nowhere in life
everyone told her she should just give up
her life was meaningless, her friends were fake, her parents had problems and she thought that she was to blame
but as she brought the blade closer to her wrists, the tiny voice boomed, "No! Stop! You're not ready yet!"
So instead of slicing away at her life, she picked up a pen and started to write
she began to write about the hard times in life
and she shed her first tear in over a year
she was told it was silly to cry and it was wrong
that if you cried, you weren't strong
but through her writing her emotions poured, and by the end of the night she was feeling alright
because of that night, a new poet was born, never to be broken again by life's vicious fights
Whenever she feels like she means nothing and she wants to die, she simply picks up a pen and begins to write [comments] => 2 [counter] => 165 [topic] => 31 [informant] => Katie2008 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

im really glad to know that you took control and decided that writing has far better rewards then to slice away your pain. it is with this i say wonderful poem. that truth you conveyed really made me imagine someone being yelled at and told they are wrong, told they are nothing, but they turn out to be something. this poem is amazing, because it is truthful and honest, true feelings poured.
