To you, everything is one sided
You don't even give others a chance
Instead you just set your negative stance

You're right, the world's wrong
Or is it just that you aren't strong?
You're afraid of thinking outside of the "norm"
So everything around you feels your hateful storm

You call self-consious girls ugly
Well I think they are just lovely
You called that girl fat
That made her want to end her life in a snap

You called that lonely boy a loser
As you sped away in your PT Cruiser
Did you even see the look on his face?
He looked as though he didn't belong in this race

You made fun of that kid with braces when she did smile
Don't hurt her because you're in denial
You called that boy with glasses a geek
How easily I could stereotype you as a creep

You called that black kid a hateful word
It started with N, but it went beyond nerd
You called that poor man a bum
In my eyes, that made you smaller than a crumb

To me, all these people are beautiful
It's people like you who make them think life is so cruel
One day all of their pain will come back to you
What exactly are you going to do?

You'll cry yourself to sleep at night
Tomorrow morning is just a fright
You'll feel unwanted and small
The world to you will always be dull

Maybe you'll feel your life slip away
The blood filtering through your hands as you lay
You'll be half dead and want to come back
To show the world you'll change your act

What if it's too late
Your body will be shoved into that final crate
Who did you prove yourself to be?
As your loved ones pray on bended knee

Life is too short to worry about how others are different than you
You should embrace difference and learn something new
Don't do things you'll regret
For that cool person you haven't even met

Be true to yourself and open
If negative doors appear, then close them
Diversity will always be here
So forget bad past memories and set them clear [comments] => 5 [counter] => 226 [topic] => 67 [informant] => Colleen [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => schoolproblems )

Karma, karma, karma...

the rhythm may be a bit off in places but it's a good read anyway - because you're passionate about what you've written - and it shows thru. Great job!

I like it, I was always one of the kids picked on in school, then I got super skinny, and everyone wanted to be my friend, remiends me of an old ska song "Please don't hate me because I'm trendy, everyone I know wants to be my friend!"

This is a great write, and very wise, hate is ugly no mater what the disguise. It is a boulder that picks up speed as it rolls on, and smashes lives. Ignorance and pride misplaced and yet society puts them on pillars.

Thanks for sharing this.
