Sailing

He sailed the winds of destiny
In search of his mate
With him sailed a companion
The trusty “whims of fate”

Also on this journey
Compassion found a place
To anchor his soul
With kindness and grace

On board too was hope
Filling his sails with inspiration
Navigating his heart faithfully toward
The appointed destination

Vision also took its turn
Standing watch high above his fear
Courage taking the helm
As the time grew near

Joy cried out excitedly
“ At last the time is right ”
“ Just this side of loneliness ”
“ A heart shines a light “

It's the heart of his beloved
The one he always knew
Would someday find his own
With a love so true

Russ

Russ, I think every poem I read of yours is better and better than the one I read just before. I enjoy your poems very much and this one was wonderful as always.
