Array ( [sid] => 50146 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Stand upon the Rock [time] => 2004-06-02 18:05:26 [hometext] => Over 2 years in the writing this is a very spiritual song inspired by the scriptures. All comments are welcome. [bodytext] => Theres a flood of dissipation within the land
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
Because people do not listen to God's commands
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
It's just like the prophet Isaiah said
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
Though hearing and seeing they don't comprehend.
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)

Give your heart to Jesus
Stand upon the rock
Repent of your sinning
Stand upon the rock

The Naphallim once walked upon the earth
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
Taking wives and making fortunes for themselves
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
They thought it was facetious what Noah warned
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
Until the flood waters came and drowned them all
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)

Give your heart to Jesus
Stand upon the Rock
Repent of your sinning
Stand upon the rock

So tell me what you're gonna do
when temptations come
Are you gonna stand and fight it?
Are you gonna be strong?
Or when you give into your struggles
like our fathers did,
are you gonna kill the savior
for your bitterness.

We live in the day of a modern age
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
When we do not remember what the bible says
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
Everyone can quote me John 3:16
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)
Yet we can not remember John 3:20
(Pray to Jesus for salvation)

Give your heart to Jesus
Stand upon the rock
Repent of your sinning
Stand upon the rock

/alternate final verse/

The savior walked upon the earth
bringing healing and wisdom to the populace
The people did not realize it was him
They beat him and they nailed him to a cursed tree

In the song version the chorus is said twice in between the verses, I put it once between each verse to save space. BRAVO!BRAVO!BRAVO! Archie I'm standing for an encore.......what a great explanation of the past and the future too. They will so the same as in Noahs day....wait until it is too late!
I love the Bible Archie, and I can see that you do too! If Jesus came again, they would do the same thing to him as they did before. No one listens to God's words.......and once again for them it will be too late.
Marvelous poetry.
I took my stand some 40 years ago.......but each day of my life.....with all the temptations around I still have to stand on the Rock now and then!
