Array ( [sid] => 49908 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Calling Out [time] => 2004-06-01 01:17:15 [hometext] => i wrote this to my brother who passed away. its about my addiction.... [bodytext] => It rained so hard today,
I knew I had made you cry,
The clouds formed overhead,
And I knew exactly why.
My life has taken a terrible turn,
I don’t know how it got this bad.
Things fell apart so damn fast,
I’ve lost everything I had.
The life I promised you I would not lead,
Has become reality now.
I’ve lost control to this poison,
I want to stop but I don’t know how.
As the thunder crashes above my head,
I knew you were yelling at me.
I wanted to hide my face,
If only there were someplace you could not see.
Helpless and shameless I dropped to my knees,
And I began to pray…
Help me my brother to change my life,
Give me the strength to turn away.
Come down from heaven and hold my hand.
Lead me through the darkness into the light.
Climb into my heart and cleanse my soul,
Help me take my wrongs and make them right.
And at that moment the sun came out,
And the rain began to subside.
I promise you right here right now,
I will make up for the tears you have cried.
With you beside me helping me through,
I can put things together again,
Just watch over me from heaven,
My brother, my friend.

nice confessional poem full of deep pathos
"A contrite heart,
no less sacred than Kaaba,
no less than manas lake."

Although about a grim subject, this is a great poem. I hope you found a way to overcome your addiction :)
