the clam forever protecting the pearl
Why can't they stand on their own
are that that afraid of being left alone

What if someday I can't wipe away their tears
what if their trouble never reaches my ears
Do they have someone telling them they'll be okay
or someone to come without a minute's delay

Is there no one else with open arms
no one to protect them from this world's harms
No one else who will just sit and listen
someone to remove all the pain from within

It troubles me to feel this way
what would my friends think, what would they say
I mean, I can't always be there
even though it sounds extremely unfair

I love my friends with everything in me
I hope they don't notice I'm not as strong as I appear to be
I worry a lot about what they say and feel
so why am I bothered still, why don't I feel real

Maybe I need to be heard for a few moments
maybe I need a friend's consolance
I definantly am not fit to be a hero
I hope I have clearly painted that mural [comments] => 4 [counter] => 181 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Colleen [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Hey Colleen. I think you're trying to point out you need someone to cry on and reach out too.
I think you're always there for someone but why
aren't they there for you?
