Scorching and burning beneath the sky
The ruins fall in embers deep
Amongst the angles damned to sleep
Swords of rust and eyes of gray
Upon the stone and ash they lay
Wings now scorched and eyes marked slain
Faces frozen in eternal pain
Slumbering deeply on a cloudless sky
Yet seeing and hearing damned to lie
In a sleepless slumber helpless and frail
Laying on the field now white and pale
Tears of god frozen to snow
Slowly the harsh wind begins to blow
No markers place the dead
Not a word of peace is said

The embers of fires raged on high
Scorching and burning beneath the sky
The ruins fall in embers deep
