But now pain and arthritis is rife,
My eyesight is deteriorating and my heart is weak,
I feel useless sat here an old and useless freak.

Inside I feel like a young girl,
I want to be out there and see the world,
But my body has long trapped me inside,
There are many a night I have cried.

All I can do is sit and watch the tv,
It has been so long since I have felt free,
Stuck in my flat day in and day out,
When all that I wish for is to get out and about.

I never imagined myself getting old,
But now that I am, it has hit me ten fold,
As I sit there and watch time go by,
Watch the daytime turn into the night sky.

I’m scared to die but I don’t want to live,
What have I got left that I could possibly give?
I really wish I could turn back the clock,
I know at my age I should be treasuring the last bit of time I’ve got.

I wonder when my time will come to an end,
Wonder when god won’t have anymore time to lend,
But all I can do is sit and wait,
As I know for sure that to die is my fate.
