As I sit and wait

As I sit and wait for dawn to break... Each second is an eternity..each one to be dealt with separately..as I try to force the knots to untie...as I make myself move my eyes, only a moments to go...is time stopped? as I sit and wait.

As I sit and wait for dawn to break...Is it that hot what is causing the moisture on my forehead...how can it be sweat when I feel a cold chill...as I sit and wait.

As I sit and wait for dawn to break...I realize how hard I am squeezing my weapon...I make my fingers relax...as I sit and wait..A flare goes up.. my hearts stopped then adrenalin rushes...A moment of light as I sit and wait.

As I sit and wait for dawn to break...A hundred memories through my head rushes..A hundred thoughts..has time stopped? it was only minutes until dawn as I sit and wait.

As I sit and wait for dawn to break..the horizon is lighter..I can see a red cloud..as the sun peaks out..then a glow in the east as I sit and wait...

as I sit and wait for dawn tp break...A beam of light breaks through...and I realize my eyes have seen another sunrise as I sit and wait.

As I sit and wait for dawn to break..the knots are untied. the eyes only red from the strain..the heart slows down..the moisture dries..but it is only 23 hours and 55 minute until I again will sit and wait for dawn to break.

I cannot imagine living that over and over and over and my heart not stopping. The inner strength you soldiers have is amazing. I would be killing everything that moved. Every hour must seem like a day. It is totally awe-inspiring.
