Bang my head, pestilence
Silent things - unsaid
Praying that something will happen
Thunder rattles the windows
Swaying the trees in tune with rain
Moth on the window screen
Drowns, gets washed away
Stub my toe in the wet grass
Raindrops glistening aftermath
Sucked down into rich dark earth
Worms slipping between my toes
I was warned to wear my shoes
But I don’t want to anymore
Tired of tying the little bows
Convention has its own price
Every step forward, costs me more
Let me go barefoot, pilgrimage
Across the lawn without asking
For anything at all, cool wet progress

Mmmmmm, I can feel every word of this. Wonderful. Makes me want to go splash in the puddles. Another feeling I know well. Love the idea of stepping and making progress and the way it is woven through.

How very true there is nothing to compare with walking through wet grass on a warm evening. As Kneip once said it is one of the healthisest things one can do. Hence the Kneip Cure. Lovely poem I emote with every syllable.
