A distorted figure, doesn’t look like me
I look again, it just fades away
I’m back again, just like yesterday

Who am I now, who should I be
I can’t fight myself, can’t even flee
There’s no way around it, no way out
The image is blurred as I scream and shout

What is left to find, what is left to tell
I’ve made my life into a living hell
I’ve no one to turn to, and no where to run
Clouds have moved in, I’m betrayed by the sun

I search for an exit, for some source of light
But all I can see is the blackness of night
Then off in the distance, I see something shine
I run towards it, shining outward like a sign

As I get closer, the brighter it seems
Until my whole view just suddenly gleams
I squint from the light, my eyes adjust
And I see you there, the only one I can trust

Suddenly things don’t look so bad
The clouds pull away, I don’t feel so sad
You took away the pain, the darkness is gone
And now the day doesn’t seem quite so long

It’s so simple, I just didn’t realize
All I had to do was open my eyes
And my world of darkness came to an end
Because standing there, was my best friend
