Everything she needs within reach
Confident in the spot light everyday
Deep down an insecure needy leech

Each evening in front of the mirror she’ll see
Everything that they all want her to be
She’ll hear the door slam, silently she’ll scream
Thinking, “Wake up, wake up, it’s just a horrible dream”

He slurs drunken words, as he pushes her to the floor
Each sense of suffering encouraging him more
While she begs him to stop he laughs heartlessly with his eyes
As he beats her blocking out her pathetic weak cries

As she sits in front of the mirror she see’s
A blackened left eye, and bloody knees
Pulling out a make up brush she begins
To cover the wounds and his dark, deadly sins

She closes her eyes and turns away
Trying to shake the pain away
He returns as he staggers, unable to see
The beauty, the love, the dependency

Unable to control his actions, he falls
She tells him she loves him, convinced she’s the cause
Of the horrible monster possessing his soul
Placed within a bottle of alcohol

He pushes her with force as she stumbles back
Into the fireplace, her world turns black
Her pained last screams torture his mind
As he searches for a button to press rewind

He vowed to be in control since the day
Addiction drove his daughter away [comments] => 2 [counter] => 220 [topic] => 66 [informant] => carmen_queasy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => drugabuse )
