Looking out to the sea, wishing, and hoping.
I sit in the sand, and ponder on the times that we shared together.
I think of how nothing in this world scared you, except for the sound of thunder.
So many nights I lie awake wishing to see your face,
So many nights wishing we were together in our favorite place.
I can remember the first time we had met, and I can remember, the first time,
We held each other when we slept.
Your hair was so long, and so blonde, and our love had the strongest of all bonds.
When I looked into your eyes I could always see forever,
But then a time came when God took us from one another.
I will remember that day, for the rest of my life,
For it was you who was suppose to become my wife, and share this life together.
I will never forget who you were, or who we were together.
For it seems all I do now in my life is just try to remember.
Nine years we spent with each other, from the age ten to nineteen,
And so many years, I wish could have been reseen.
You will always have the closest spot to my heart, even though we are apart.
The life I live today, I owe to you.
For if we never had met, today my life would have been more of a mess.
You showed me so much, in such a short period of time,
And this is why today I still hold your heart next to mine.
It has been almost ten years since I've seen your face,
But every year I still go to our favorite place.
Even though I can not show you today, what your love means to me,
I can promise you, that when it is my turn to leave this world,
We will dance upon the sea.

I can feel this poem so deeply. My love is dying right now and there is no chance of recovery. In our time he taught me to love and dream and believe in life. If not for him I would still be cold and withdrawn and afraid of emotion. This is a beautiful piece, Ron.
