Death of a Shadow

I sit in solitude, the darkness contained
The pain in my limbs, the blood that has stained
Then suddenly I wonder, what have I done..?
The sight of a death, the post fired gun
I stare down at him, only to see
I've lost someone, who meant nothing to me
A rush of lost feelings, of love within hate
Of shattered dreams and hope, of love life and fate
So I stood up and looked, at the body below
The cries could be heard, a cross on his brow
And turning away, I started to leave
For the body behind, was none other than me.

The rhyming and flow was very good.
The subject was rather sad, though. Losing love for yourself, suicide...Though you did this very well, not revealing yourself until the end.
Ah, well...The past is past, I hope. |
