Sleek and stealthy gait across the yard
Shortcuts he knows aplenty
Prideful and a bit arrogant too
But then he is a handsome fellow
He finds his favorite hunting spot
Sits in dappled sunlit swamp
Waits for his prey to come along
On unsuspecting victims pounce
Green eyes watch each blade of grass
He flexes razor sharp claws
Ready for anything to cross his path
Alas no luck today
The mice perhaps have moved away
So back across the lawn he goes
To sleep in comfort by the stove
Whiskers twitch in feline dreams
