i love you oh so much
yet you are slowly fading away
although i do not really know you
what changed?
you used to take me to the park
and push me on the swing
you used to take me ice skating
in the lake behind the farm
you used to do these things with me, and i wish you still did,
but now your in a different country,
we will be reunited in June,
but even then all you will do
is work and work and work
in your time off,
you will play on your computer
like a moth drawn to the flame
and so i will wait and wait,
for you to take me back,
and take me to gymnastics class,
maybe even come to my meets,
or my basketball games,
or the honors assembly,
anything to make you proud of me,
just tell me what i am doing wrong
i will try to make it right,
trust me i truly will!
i love you oh so much,
but you are slowly fading away [comments] => 8 [counter] => 272 [topic] => 23 [informant] => bananagurl [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 17 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FamilyPoems )

Awesome write.....think it would be great to show this to your dad...out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks..this would have to move his heart.

you definitely need to show this to your dad.
and don't blame yourself for any lack of attention...parents very often forget what is truly important in life and more often than not, it is entirely unintentional.
great write.
thanks for sharing

Sometimes parents... even fathers forget what is important to the child. You've done nothing wrong, but I'm sure these words will reunite you with the daddy you once knew. But even there you are lucky... you at least have special memories that some children do not have. Have faith, believe in yourself .... and your special daddy. Hugs, June

well written, we lose sight of what is truly important in life...It has nothing to do with you...the problem lies with priorities on your fathers part...show him maybe it will make a difference

I feel your pain, everyone goes through this stage at some point in time. No parents are perfect and I believe ur dad deserves to know how you feel. He would be very thankful that you opened his eyes and then maybe could change. Love:::Kirby

He may not realize how much you miss him, and he may not know how to regain the distance that seprates you.
