Baptism by fire and a young thing cries
Such a pretty thing, kiss daddy goodnight
Mommy loves you, her paper doll delight

A paper doll, who's willed to come to life
Leave the room, close the door behind
Kiss your hand, but don't let anyone see
Now close your eyes and come kiss me

Albinos and demons attack your sleep
A cursed existence at a tender thirteen
Lolita's child, so poised and pristine
Dirty secrets hidden in a wax figurine

A Nigerian man visits your dreams
Bringing news of the world he has seen
Tears your flesh and ignites your skin
Licks your wounds, outside and in

Making love to the mirror embraces sin
The forbidden honey that lies within
Hourglass curse you pretend to despise
Lord and Master, a tyrant in disguise

Sleep on the floor right by his side
The masochistic pleasures you derive
Scream to stop, but he never will
Captivating thoughts haunt you still

Bloodthirsty man thrives on a kill
As right and wrong is warply instilled
Forgive us Lord, or so you should pray
Self-righteous souls command you obey

Whispered glances, a life of shame
Bleed your confession, accept the blame
Prove your faith, offer up your sacrifice
'You will be with him in Paradise'

Foolish youth, swallow your pride
Cut deep so your will can't survive
A stepford child, daddy's pride and joy
Loved again, as her mother's toy

Amazing. Absolutely, utterly, completely, entirely (etc.) amazing. I can't say it enough . . . I'd been looking a few times to see if you'd posted any of your poetry after I saw some of your (really nice and undeserved) comments on my poems and was rather disappointed that you'd not yet done so. But this was entirely worth the wait.

So many lines jumped out at me . . .

"Mommy loves you, her paper doll delight"
"Dirty secrets hidden in a wax figurine"
"Hourglass curse you pretend to despise"

Just amazing. And I love the idea of fairy tale lies . . .

On the whole, this was powerful and emotional and painful and eloquent and (gotta say it again) amazing. If any of your others are like this, you have a definite fan here.

This one reminded me of a chant to a beat older than time.
:)
Good write.
I enjoyed reading it and I am at a loss for things to say sadly.
Brilliant though. Absolutely brilliant.
