When we would stay up late
Just to make the days
Last forever

The neighbors got so ******
But we kept the candles lit
As we laughed
All night long

Is the west coast where you wanna be
Does California make you happy
Will your new life erase the memory
Does it make you forget
Your favorite enemy

From up here the stars look like
One million fireflies across the sky
Each one shines just like your eyes
The air is barely freezing
And I’m barely breathing
As time passes by

Is the west coast all you want it to be
Is California what makes you happy
Does your new life erase the memory
Does it make you forget
Your favorite enemy

Is there such a thing as moving on
Now that this has started to die
Can I wake up with you next to me
One more time

Does your new life erase the memory
Does it make you forget about me
Your favorite enemy
Your favorite enemy

Lyndsey was right when she advocated your lyrical abilities. I found this rhythmic and powerfully inducive. I especially like the way you pictured yourself in the night. That was special, as was the way you juxtaposed the idea of a long distance, love/hate relationship.
Thankyou for sharing it.

excellent write. one of the hardest things i've ever had to do was try to get over someone who thought they could find a better life without me.
"Does your new life erase the memory
Does it make you forget about me
Your favorite enemy"
gripping write :)

James... Do you know how good you are? You are beyond belief great at writing some of the most beautiful, heart wrenching lyrics that pierce any soul that reads them. We can all relate, cause we all know what you're feeling, cause you write it out perfectly. You're an amazing writer. And an amazing person. I miss talking to you. Hope to see you around!

Lindsey
