The love inside passion still burns
Wonder's what's taking him so long
Is that him whistling, is that their song

The darkness illuminates a full moon
Star light reflections at twelve noon
Memories drown out her confusion
He looks so beautiful this is no illusion

A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square
Their love song memories taken unaware
A little confused her mind has become
Alone with memories his constant hum

Sitting by the window, missing him so
Went out seems such a long time ago
Wanting him to be by her side
Looked so beautiful as his bride

Looks at her fingers all wrinkled and old
Remembers the ring is fifty years old
A tear slowly falls upon her soft cheek
Many years have flown seems like a week

Time to sleep no thoughts of despair
In the corner sits an old rocking chair
Received a hand from heaven finds rest
Souls joined as one true love blessed

Love Angelxxxx

Sweetangel. I have re-read your beautiful poem. In september my lovely wife and I have our Golden Wedding; and our rings, I could not afford anything expensive in those far off days, do look a bit the worse for wear. Thank you for sharing love from Bernard.

Execllence!!! Sheer baeuty shines through this poem. I used to sit back and wonder what it would feel like to grow old with somebody and still be in love. You just gave me a glimpse of just that. Great job. Heartfelt write. Much love.
