Array ( [sid] => 48089 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Fear Of Drowning [time] => 2004-05-18 15:10:21 [hometext] => My depression might have won some battles, but it won't win the war!!!!!!! [bodytext] => I’ve seen this happen a hundred times before,
Now it’s my turn to try and swim to shore,
I’ve always been a great swimmer all through my life,
Even when the feelings of hurt have been rife.

At the moment my heads above water,
Many different ways of survival I have been taught,
But I’ve learnt to go it alone, that’s my way,
I’ll always live to fight another day.

Sometimes I feel my head just going under,
Should I let the water take me, I wonder?
My answer is no, no and no again,
From sinking I will refrain.

It’s easier to submerge and sink to the sea bed,
Than struggle on with the battle in your head,
The sea is sometimes choppy, sometimes calm,
You’ll feel pain but hopefully won’t be caused too much harm

The shore is within reaching distance,
I can feel the current pulling me, I use my inner resistance,
I make it and lay on the wet sand,
I grab the grains and hold them tight in my hand.

Nice imagery here, just a tip, try rhyming so each line has the same amount of syllables :) its hard, but the poem sounds great. x
