her eyes just drew me in, she wasn't of this world,
she told me of her pain, of how they drove her insane,
i turned and walked away, nothing i wanted to say.

her visits didn't cease, she came every time i slept,
every time surrounded by peace, and yet every time i wept,
said for years and years she'll roam,
she's lost, can't find her home,
i turned and walked away, nothing i wanted to say.

i kissed her on the lips, told her not to return,
my tears poured down in drips, and oh did my heart burn,
she made her final speach,
told of how i'm beyond reach,
i turned and walked away, nothing i wanted to say.

she kept right to her word, never returned again,
i was back to loneliness, felt like i'd lost a friend,
stared my reflection in the eye,
told me truths i could no longer deny,
i turned and walked away, nothing i wanted to say.

now my eyes can see
that girl was really me
just a mirage
of what i'm going to be. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 171 [topic] => 43 [informant] => krisseee [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Surprising ending! Haunting, Sad and very Beautiful write. Losing apart of yourself is as hard as it can get. Very well written. Bravo!

We are our most harsh critics, and seldom do we give ourselves credit. But who better, to know us and to say.

I liked this much, thanks for sharing.
