A storm brewing in my heart.
Life is just so hectic,
Slowly falling apart.
Seeing through these eyes,
All that I can perceive.
The pieces of my sanity,
Surely leaving me.
The rain falls softly,
Upon my windowpane.
I imagine it shattering,
As I go insane.
Shattering like my dreams,
To be ruined at last.
Breaking like my heart,
This sheet of glass.
But oh, the beauty it holds,
As the rain runs down.
Blurring the image beyond,
With a comforting sound.
The storm in me subsides,
And so I sit in wonder.
As that of broken glass,
Can life hold such splendor?
Opening the window,
I let the rain fall in.
Hoping against hope,
To wash away my sins.
Sodden wet and chilled,
I close the window again.
Feeling the storm without,
Reaching me within.
Won’t you shatter, glass?
Show that of my life.
But the pane is just too strong,
To buckle under strife.
And the clouds drift away,
My mind is now clear.
The sun now shines,
The birds, I can hear.
My sanity is not all spent,
Life can be an amazing thing.
It all depends on me,
And the strength I can bring.
Bend when the wind blows,
Heave against the force,
Stand sturdy like this glass,
But be fragile, of course.
I am the source of my actions,
Of my life shattering like glass.
That’s the true beauty of life,
Future, present, and past.
Now to pick up the pieces,
That which only I can do.
Avoiding the jagged edges,
And seeing my dreams through…

This is an amazing poem. It seems that the hard times are ebbing away and that is a very good thing.
