My head is in my hands
After I detached it from my neck
Because malicious intent feels better,
Than hands raised in silent supplication,
Vain words packed with lies,
Or my face rotting with sorrow, ever could,
Eyes closed to block out the pain
Since the uselessness of life
Seeps in and chills me to my marrow

I try to escape by candlelight
As the moonlight casts its bloodied glow upon me
To frame my shoulders heaving with despair
As my sheets become soaked with tears
And dark thoughts that make me comprehend my hands
That drip with uselessness and unflagging regret
As I lament and strive to end what I hate,
But this burden I am forced to carry
Beneath my broken, blood-stained shoulders
As I am forced to plod
These endless, aching miles

Waking to the dull glow of dawn
Arms loaded with lies and cradling confusion
Voices swirling around me with malicious intent
Tears freezing and staining my wind-whipped face
Joy does not frequent this disgusted face
As I peer through the fog of my discontent
Discerning Death from afar
And her pale hand raised in salutation
Even as breath departs from my lips

*jaw drops in wonder*

WHAT are you talking about?!?!

this is such an amaaaazing poem you won't believe how much i loved it.

how can you say that it's useless?

or that YOUR useless?

no-one in this world is useless.
everyone plays a part, a role, on our planet.
i'm sure a lot of people care about you, I for one, even though i don't really know you, but i still care...
know that joel.
pm me if you ever wanna talk...

just hang in there ok?

13 year old girl concerned about the number of poets here who think that they're useless when they have so much talent sparkling around for everyone to see,
love,
katie
