Well the economy is down
people are losing their jobs
prices are going up
it costs 40 more cents for this pen
Oh and the people, what people
people are not what we have become
people are smart
we are stubborn and dumb
I'd like to thank the world
For items under a dollar fifty.
I'd like to thank the world
for letting us use credit cards so swiftly
And to the Green Pocketeers
Who suck up every dime
Drive your car to the corner of the world
and buy yourself a new life
To those who seek a richer fortune
One without the green dollar bill
I will walk amongst you
to the quality which is real.

brilliant. this is so true of todays world, prices go up, value of dollar goes down. when will this game end? more importantly, who will be the winner? will it be the consumers (us) or the fatcats (large business owners), only time will tell. very clever writing. thought provoking i must say.

obviously money not equal to happiness - we all get that message somewhere along the way, but it gets drowned out by media/social circles/govt who tells us what we *should* have. Always always someone else has more than we do - just as there is always someone else with more pain.
Being real, growing wisdom is the only answer like you say... |
