Array ( [sid] => 47151 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => What Christmas Is All ABout... [time] => 2004-05-12 00:58:36 [hometext] => I wrote this in December, but just found it tonight LOL... So here it is! The last verse is shaped like a bell... It was not done on purpose but I think it's amazing how it's a christmas poem and the bell fits right in there...lol [bodytext] => It’s not about presents,
Or how much you receive,
But the thought put behind it.
Nor is it about Santa,
And whether or not you believe,
It’s family, reunited.

It’s not about diamonds,
To show how much you love her,
But getting caught under mistletoe.
And it’s not about getting stuck home,
Because of bad weather,
But rather, angels in the snow.

It’s not about how much you spend,
Nor how big or small,
It’s the reaction as some one opens it.
It’s not about standing in line
For Santa’s lap at the mall,
But the pictures after it.

It’s not about an assortment of candy
Stuffed in a stocking over the fireplace,
But the traditional peppermint candy cane.
Nor is it about baking cookies for Santa,
But rather, the children checking the plate,
And finding that he came!

It’s not about the light bill,
Or how the tree smells of pine,
But how it makes the room glow.
And it’s not about begging,
But helping charities that are low.

It’s not something completely physical,
Or something you can touch,
But rather, something that lives
In each one of us.
It’s being kind and caring,
As the Holiday draws near,
And thoughtful and generous,
Which we’ve forgotten all year.
It’s the warm, fuzzy feeling
Of togetherness and love.
A gift sent to everyone
From the man above.
So please don’t forget,
Though I doubt you might,
The root word is the true meaning,
Christmas equals Christ… [comments] => 5 [counter] => 205 [topic] => 18 [informant] => Crys [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Holiday Poetry )

This is the best poem I have seen from you yet. Yes! The words are great as well as the attitude. I am very impressed. Thank you for sharing this.
