But it’s a lonely road to take
Who’ll watch your back, tell you it’s ok
When you find the mistakes you’re bound to make

Who’ll share with you the good times
But more importantly, the bad
You stand alone, with broken wings
Wishing for something you’ve never had

They say the eyes are the gateway to the heart
And yours are filled with pain
Quietly, you pull up your hood
And step into the hard cold rain

Secluded beneath your foreboding exterior
Hides desperation and fear of the unknown
You shroud your eyes and harden your heart
Because at the end of the day, you know you’ll stand alone.

This is sad, sometimes we all need just a few minutes to ourselves. but when it comes to someone saying they rather be alone then with someone it is hard to take. great poem. sandy
